Day 1 - Top of Zugspitze

In the background is the monument from the 1936 Winter Olympics hosted by Garmisch-Partenkirchen...and if we look cold it's because we were...it was windy and we were at 9700 ft. in February!
The gonola
At the top!

We weren't completely without a view

First thing on our list was to go to the top of Zugspitze, the tallest peak in Germany (9,720 ft), there is a gondola that takes you all the way to the top (not for those with a fear of heights) it was an incredible journey! Much to our disappointment though, after the ride (and about $100) the mountain was entirely socked in and we couldn't see the Alps we knew were out there! :)

The one glimpse you managed to get though is awesome!
